January Calendar

Here is our calendar of January classes.  I hope you'll be able to join us for a class or two.

Since Saturday, January 5 is Make-n-take, here is a look at the cards we will be doing.  Stop by between 10 and 4 and have some fun.

                               

Nest News

Just thought we'd share some pictures from our Open House  back on December 9th.  Here's Nandy Gesseck after she won a $100 gift certificate to the store playing the Left - Right game.

And of course Susan demonstrated a number of new products.

And Sharon the Elf was ever so happy to help people check out.

Only 3 shopping days left - until we close for inventory that is.  Remember, we'll be closed from December 30 through January 4th.  We'll reopen January 5th with lots of new products and four beautiful cards to do for Make 'n Take.  Hope to see you then.

SALE!!!!!!

Monday is the beginning of our "I Hate Inventory Sale."  Everything in the store (except for gift certificates, classes, special orders, and otherwise marked-down sale merchandise) is 25% off.

Now is the time to stock up on paper, stamps, ink, punches, ribbon, stencils, dies, embellishments, and all the other things you'll need to work on your cards and scrapbooks during the upcoming bad weather when you're stuck at home.  The sale lasts from Monday, Dec. 17 through 2 pm on Monday, Dec. 24 when we are closing for Christmas.  We will reopen Wednesday, Dec. 26.  Don't forget to sign up for the Glitter Thank You Card Class on Dec. 27 and the Stencil Class on Dec. 29.  We will be closed for inventory from Dec. 30  through January 4 and will reopen for Make 'n Take on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013.

Stencil Class

Come make three beautiful heron cards using three different techniques and a Dreamweaver stencil. $20 will get you all the materials and help you need to make these three cards - and you get to keep the stencil. The class is Saturday December 29 at 10:30 am.  Call now to reserve a space.

Don't forget our annual Holiday Party on Sunday, December 9 from 1:30 to 3:30.  We will have food, games, door prizes, and demonstrations of new products.  Here's your chance to make a wish list for those who don't know what to get you for Christmas.  Everyone will have a chance to win a $100 store gift certificate.

December Classes

Learn to stamp on candles.  They make great gifts or holiday decorations. Classes are Tuesday December 11 at 10:30 am or 6:30 pm and the cost is $15.  You will need to bring three white or ivory unscented candles with you. They can be either the 3 inch or 6 inch pillar type.  All other materials will be supplied.

Going to need some thank you cards after receiving all those lovely Christmas and Hanukkah gifts?  Join us as we make 3 beautiful glitter thank you cards.  The class is being held Thursday, December 27th at 10:30 am and 6:30 pm. Cost of the class is $15.

Quick & Easy Card Class

Join us at Stamp and Scrap Nest on Tuesday December 4th at either 10:30AM or 6:30PM to make 5 of each of the above cards to make 10 cards total! The class is $20, bring your scissors and adhesive and come join the fun!!

Make 'n Take

Here's a look at the four cards we'll be making on Saturday at Make 'n Take.  Drop in anytime from 10 am until 4 pm. Just $2 per card.

We'll be doing a Felted Snowman class on Thursday December 6 at 10:30 am and 6:30 pm.  He is about 4" tall and fun to make. Cost of the class is $15.

Christmas Gift Idea

If you or someone you know has an American Girl Doll, you can buy hand-sewn and hand-knit clothes from us.  We have a variety of coats, sweaters, dresses and other outfits for 18" dolls that will fit the American Girl Collection.  We also have clothes that fit Bitty Baby.  Keep this in mind if you need a gift for that special girl in your life.

December Schedule

     The December schedule is ready and whether you need to make some last minute Christmas cards or some clever gifts, we've got what you're looking for.  Join us to make a felted snowman, to learn to stamp on candles, or to make a few cards.

     We will be closing early (2 pm) on Christmas Eve, so tell your husbands, sons, elves or whoever, that if they want to get you a gift certificate, they have to plan ahead a little.  We will also be closed after Christmas from December 31 through January 4 for inventory.  We will reopen Saturday, January 5, for Make 'n Take.  And speaking of inventory, in order to have fewer things to count, we're having an "I Hate Inventory Sale" from Monday, December 17 through Saturday, December 22.  Come in and get 25% off of everything in the store.  This does not apply to classes, gift certificates, special orders, or previously marked down merchandise.

     We're having our annual Holiday Party on Sunday, December 9 from 1:30 to 3:30.  Join us for food, fun, games, demos of new products, and a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.

     The Nest will be participating in Latimer Lane School's Vendor Shopping Night on Thursday, November 29 from 4:30 to 8 pm.  Support local businesses and do your holiday shopping all in one evening.

Black Friday

Black Friday is almost here and we have some specials for you!!  We have BoBunny packs that contain 25 sheets of double-sided paper and an assortment of embellishments including buttons, brads, ribbons, chipboard pieces, and journaling tags. Glitter Class

November Schedule

Here is the eagerly awaited November schedule.  Hopefully you'll find some classes you just can't live without.  Call us to register, and if you pay before the day of the class, you will receive 10% off any merchandise purchased on the day of the class.

More November Classes

Our November scrapbook layout will feature apples, fall leaves, and pumpkins on our beautiful seasonal BoBunny papers.  This double-page layout would be perfect for your fall foliage photos or those Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving moments.  The layout class will be on Monday, November 5 at 2 pm.  The cost is $15.

We've had several requests to reschedule a Stamp of the Month class from earlier this month to November 6.  We will be making these three whimsical Great Impressions Christmas cards.  The class will be at 10:30 am or 6:30 pm and the cost will be $15.

New Merchandise

Check out our new bookmarks and necklaces from Magenta.  The bookmarks are made of wood and can be colored, stamped or embellished to suit your needs.  The necklaces are floral designs on wood with a glazed finish.

We have received four new embossing folders from Sizzix: a pine branch and holly branch, two collections of birds, a pair of branches, and a pair of large snowflakes.  Use them to make fabulous backgrounds for your cards.          

A November Preview

Although our November calendar isn't finalized yet, we thought we'd give you a little preview of two of our classes. 

Felted Animals

Make one of these really cute little felted animals.  Come in and buy your favorite animal kit and we'll help you put it together in class.  The cost of the class is $5 plus the cost of your kit (prices vary by animal).  We have kittens, dogs, horses, monsters, monkeys, and owls to choose from. Class is Thursday, November 1 at 10:30 am or 6:30 pm.

Christmas Card

                   

Join us for our last Christmas card class of 2012.  This lovely Victorian scene is reminiscent of looking out the window on a snowy winter evening.  The class includes materials to make ten cards of this same design as well as envelopes.  Classes are scheduled for Tuesday, November 13 or Thursday, November 15 at 10:30 am or 6:30 pm.  Cost is $25.

New Staff Member

Stop in and meet Kelly, our newest staff member. She's 11 weeks old and is busy trying to chew everything in the store. She is a real sweetheart and even Jazzy is finally warming up to her.

  

                              

TSUKINEKO CLASS Join us for a fun-filled day of class projects with John Petersen, the ink guru from Imagine Crafts, the makers of Memento and Staz-On Inks.  The class runs from 10:00 am to 4 pm on Saturday, 10/13/12 at the store with a break for one of our world-renowned lunches.  Bring an old hard-bound book to re-purpose into two home decor projects, a pumpkin and a journal. You will also be making jewelry from sheet-metal blanks by embossing, stamping, and inking your design.  The cost is $75.  Besides an old book, bring your class kit.

                                   INK & DRINK
Haven't had enough fun or can't make it during the day?  Join us from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm on 10/13 for our first ever Ink & Drink event.  John will be guiding you as you make a tag flip-chart to take home for easy reference to eight different fabulous techniques.  Oh, and did I mention we'll be serving refreshments?  Wine and soft drinks will be served, so have your ID's ready.  You may be carded!  Cost is $35.  Bring your class kit.

We will be making the adorable moose, polar bear and tree cards using the Great Impressions stamps.  Join us on Thursday, October 11 at either 10:30 am or 6:30 pm.  Cost is $15.

                                                             INKY ANTICS
Join us on Thursday, October 18 at either 10:30 am or 6:30 pm to make this cute ornament and card from Honeypop paper.  The card has a Honeypop candle inside.  Learn a new technique or practice an old one.  Cost of the class is $15.

Something to crow about!  Use this great rooster stencil in a variety of ways to create four cards you'll be sure to use. The class is on Saturday, October 20 at 10:30.  The class fee is $20 and you get to keep the rooster stencil.
