Samples, Samples, Sample

We've been busy designing the cards for Saturday's Make 'N Take.  We don't have all of them finished yet, but we thought we'd tease you with the two we have done.  Drop in any time between 10 and 4 to make as many cards as you'd like.  Only $2 per card.

 

We're having a Fall Pop-Up class on Saturday, October 12.  Below are the two cards we will be making that day.  Join us to make two truly unique cards that your friends would love to receive.

Calendar for October

We have finalized the schedule for next month and think you will be pleased with the class offerings.

• Back by popular demand!  We will be offering the Graphic 45 Calendar Book Class once again on Tuesday, October 8.  When you are finished you will have a beautiful book in which to keep cards you have made and dates that cards are needed.  The cost of the class includes the monthly calendar pages you will need and a page of embellishments for each month.  Optional chipboard embellishment sheets are available for purchase. See our last blog posting for a photo of the book.
• Pop-Up Cards are always popular and we've had quite a response in the past for our Pop-Up classes.  We will be making two great cards with a fall theme.  Pictures still to come because the cards are not in their final stages yet.  The class is Saturday October 12 at 10:30.
• Our Double Page Scrapbook Layout for October will feature garden-themed papers from Moxie, seed packets, and a chipboard trellis.  What a great page for displaying your flower pictures from the summer. We'll be creating this page on Wednesday, October 16 at 2 pm.

• Many of you are not familiar with the Stampscapes company and their beautiful line of stamps.  After inking a background, you can create a variety of gorgeous outdoor scenes by using stamps made specifically for overlapping. This is an easy way to make many different cards with the same set of stamps.  The class is Thursday, October 17 at 10:30 or 6:30.
• Our Stencil Class never fails to fill quickly.  This month we will be making three cards using a row of pumpkins and three different techniques.  Join us at 10:30 on Saturday, October 19.
• Hard to believe but this will be our next to the last Christmas Card class.  This month's card is an image of the Three Wise Men on an alcohol ink background.  Classes are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday, October 22 and 24, at 10:30 and 6:30.

• We'll be making one of Stacy Stamps' Stuff-It-Boxes (The ones we did in our July class with Stacy as our guest artist.), but this time with Graphic 45's TY-POG-RA-PHY  papers. The papers are really cute and your boxes will be too.  For this one, join us on Tuesday, October 29 at 10:30 or 6:30

Attendance at any of these classes requires that you sign up in advance by calling the store at 860-658-9023 or by signing up in person.  Remember that some classes fill up very quickly.  You can pay by credit card over the phone or by mailing a check.  If you pay BEFORE THE DAY OF THE CLASS, you will receive a 10% discount on anything you purchase the day of the class.  We're looking forward to seeing you in October!

Glitter Class

Just a reminder to those of you who have signed up for the Wedding Cake Explode Box on Saturday, September 21.  You will need to bring a paper cutter that can handle 12x12 paper.  You will also need scissors and tape.  Tape runners will work fine on most of the project, but you will need a roll of tape (either Red Line or the white Miracle Tape) to put your ribbon on the cake.




Saturday, September 28 is our next Glitter Card Class.  Below are the three cards we will be working on. The 10:30 class has been filled, but we have decided to offer a 2:00 class as well and there are still spaces available. All three of the cards will feature a new technique where we "lift" the shimmer from a shimmer sheet to use as a background.

Although we don't have our October calendar finalized yet, (Any day now!) we do have a few dates to share with you.  Due to high demand, we will be rerunning our Graphic 45 "Place in Time" Calendar Book class on Tuesday, October 8th.  This has been a VERY popular class and it produces a gorgeous book which can be used for storing your handmade cards and the dates you need them.

The stencil class will feature a row of pumpkins and will be on Saturday, October 19.  Christmas card classes will be October 22, 23, and 24th, there will be an open crop on October 26th, and we will be doing Stampscapes on October 17th.  As soon as samples are available, we will post photos.  That means, when we get our acts together and get the stuff for next month done, we'll share it with you.

New Merchandise and Samples

Just a reminder - Our Sidewalk Sale continues all week through Saturday, September 14.  It doesn't hurt to keep checking back.  We occasionally find more items to put out there and sometimes make further markdowns on current sale merchandise.

We've just gotten a stamp shipment from Penny Black.  They feature their usual critters in fun images which are perfect for Copic Markers or colored pencils.  Below is the Halloween selection.

We've also received our "Trinket Box" from Farmhouse.  It contains quite an assortment of metal embellishments including keys, dog tags, leaves, and other charms.  All the items are either $.50 or $1 except for small glass bottles which are $2.

Hip, hip, hooray!!!  After three weeks our air conditioning has been fixed.  So come on in to Make 'N Take where it's nice and cool.
