NEW PHOTOS

On Thursday, April 10, we will be holding a class in "Slider Cards."  These are a new style of card from The Paper Cut, and they're really fun to make.  Below are the three cards we will be making.

Tuesday, April 15, is the Inkie Antics Spiral Die Cut Card class.  We will be making two cards using a new die that cuts a spiral square.

The video below will show you how the cards work.

Tuesday, April 22, is a class featuring Susan's Garden Dies from Sizzix.  These dies make incredibly lifelike flowers and are a lot easier than the old method of using multiple punches.  Here are the card and box we will be making in that class.

We've also received some "Configuration" Book Boxes from Ranger, and Susan has turned one into a beautiful keepsake with Graphic 45's "By the Sea" papers. Although this is not a class, she would be happy to show you how she did it.

SCHEDULE FOR APRIL

ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to a scheduling conflict, we have had to cancel the Open Crop scheduled for March 29th. Sorry for the inconvenience.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Our schedule for April is done and we're pretty excited about some new styles of cards that we'll be making.  Not everything has arrived from the manufacturers yet, so we don't have pictures for all of the classes, but we will post them as they become available.

  • April 10 - Slider Cards:  These are a new design from The Paper Cut and they're a lot of fun to make.  We'll be incorporating some die cuts into these cards.  Be the first one on your block to send a "slider card."
  • April 15 - Inkie Antics Spiral Diecut Cards:  You have to see this to believe it.  Just when you think they can't possibly come up with something new.
  • April 19 - Intro to Copic Markers: Have you always wanted to know how to color with Copics?  Do you want to know what the numbers on them mean and how to use those numbers? Maybe you already own a few Copics and aren't sure how to use them?  This class is for you.  For $40 you not only get $40 worth of markers, but the class to go with them.
  • April 22 - Susan's Garden: These dies cut all the parts you need to make the most beautiful flowers.  These flowers look so realistic it's hard to believe they're made of paper. Don't wait for spring, make your own flowers now.
  • April 29 - This month's Stencil Class features three absolutely gorgeous sailboat cards. Don't miss it.

Lots of New Merchandise!

Boy have we got new merchandise!  Over the past two weeks, we've gotten one or two boxes delivered every single day.  Some of it was replacing depleted stock of course, but we have new things coming in all the time.

You know how several parts of some dies are linked by those tiny bits of metal and you practically break your scissors trying to cut them apart?  Elizabeth Craft has solved that problem with a pair of die snips that will do the job beautifully.  They also have a pair of files, one rounded and one flat, to file down any sharp edges that are left. (Snips sold separately.)

Now that you've got your dies separated, are you wondering how to store them?  Here at the store we use the Art Bin.  It comes with three magnetic sheets on which to place your dies.  Refills are available and it holds quite a few sheets.

Elizabeth Craft has also come out with their own brand of embossing folders and we've gotten some new designs.  What a fun way to dress up Shimmer Sheetz.  Just emboss and color the raised portion with Staz-On inks.

The photos below are just a few of the new papers available from SEI.  The pictures don't do these papers justice.  There is a sheen to these papers that makes them look so rich and inviting.  You have to see them to appreciate them.

We also have several new ribbons that might be just what you're looking for to lend the right touch to that card or scrapbook page.  We have several that have dimensional flowers attached.  Come in and take a look.

One of the new products out there that we all fell in love with is the new craft mat from Imagine Crafts.  It doesn't curl or slide around like other mats and gives just a bit of cushioning - perfect for sharper stamping impressions.  It also cleans very easily.  Adhesives peel right off and even solvent inks clean off easily.

Come on in and browse.  You'll be glad you did.

New Class Photos

I know many of you have been waiting for pictures of the cards we'll be making in the next few classes.  We've been waiting and waiting for shipments from the manufacturers so we can make samples.  This coming Tuesday, March 11, we are doing "Celebrate Spring" using some new stamps from Great Impressions.  That's the company that makes the stamps we always used for our "Stamp of the Month" classes.  We haven't worked with that program for a few months now because we didn't think the images were anything new.  This month we really liked their stamps and are doing three cards using them.

On Tuesday, March 18, we will be doing a "Never-Ending Card" Class using a new die and stamp sets from Inkie Antics.  For those of us who have been around a little longer, one of these cards is reminiscent of what we used to call a "cootie catcher" in junior high school.  There are four different images that take a little maneuvering of the paper to get to.  We will also be doing a modified pop-up card using the same die.

We have also received some new nesting dies from Lifestyle Crafts.  You get as many as 22 dies in some of these packages for $25.50.  That's only a little over a dollar each!  They are great for both cards and scrapbookking.
