May Schedule

TAG SALE -  Once again, by popular request, we are having our customer tag sale on May 17th.  If you have items you no longer want and would like to sell them this is for you. We will do all the work and you get store credit for your items. Call the store to register and receive a customer number.  There is limited space so you MUST sign up ahead.  If you have participated in the past, your number will be the same.  Price your items clearly and with whole dollar prices only, attaching your number and price firmly.  We can not be responsible for lost items due to missing tags.  You may want to group a few items together in a package for one price. Then bring your items to the store anytime between Wednesday, May 14th and Friday, May 16th.  We will take care of setting up tables and displaying all merchandise. We will keep track of your sales and you will receive a store credit to spend on new goodies.  Any items that do not sell can be picked up on Monday or Tuesday of the following week or we will donate the items to school and church groups. You do not need to be present, but you may want to come and shop on Saturday the 17th and pick up some "new to you" merchandise at fabulous prices.

Here is the schedule of classes for May.  There's quite a variety of things to choose from, so I hope you can find something that strikes your fancy.

  • May 8th - Funky Folds - We will be making three cards using new folded cards from The Paper Cut. I will post pictures as soon as they become available.
  • May 10th - Stencil Class - This month's cards feature a bird with blossoms.  As soon as we finish the samples, we'll put the pictures on.
  • May 13th - Copic Skills - This is not the usual Copic class.  We have had requests to help people hone their skills while coloring a couple of cards made from some of our new stamps.  Participants will bring their own Copic markers (or of course you can buy them here) and concentrate on shading and advanced coloring techniques.
  • May 20th - Susan's Garden - We'll use dies from this Sizzix series to create decorative  3-D flowers so real you'll want to water them.  Photos will be posted as soon as we know which ones we're doing.
  • May 22nd and 29th - By The Sea - For those of you who've missed it, we're providing yet another opportunity to work with Jane Jones to create this gorgeous book from scratch.  Because we're trying to condense the book into two classes, there will be two Thursday classes, from five to six hours each, and even some homework. The cost will be $35 for each class and the price of your supplies, a paper pack for about $45 and the hardware pack for about $20.  If you're interested in this class, when you call to register we will send you a list of items to bring with you.

  • May 31st - Vintage Journal - This beautiful journal is made using Tim Holtz's journal covers and binder parts and an assortment of hardware and embellishments. Learn various distressing techniques and put this book together in one day.  The class is from 10 am to 4:30 pm.  Feel free to bring a brown bag lunch or pick up a quick bite to munch on as there will be a short break from 1:00 to 1:30.  The cost is $40 and includes all your supplies except tape to put things together.

New Merchandise

We've got so much new merchandise!!  We've been gone for a couple of weeks and Susan has been keeping track of the number of boxes of freight that have arrived in our absence.  In the two weeks we were gone, she received 32 boxes of new stuff, and it's still coming in.  I'm posting pictures of some of the new items so you can see what's new in the rubber stamping, scrapbooking, and card making world.

We have a new storage case from Art Bin which is designed to hold your little bottles of Stickles, Liquid Pearls, Glossy Accents, etc.  The plastic case holds two racks, or you can buy racks individually and raise them up on a little stand.  Storing the bottles upside down makes them easier to use.

We also have a large selection of new stamps featuring the House Mouse collection (and their friends the bear and bunny).

Tim Holtz has a very large collection of book covers, portfolios, hardware, dies, and embossing folders, and we have gotten quite a few of his new products.

Speaking of Tim Holtz products, we will have a class (date to be determined) in which Jane Jones will show you how to make a vintage journal featuring some of the above merchandise.

We have quite a selection of new papers from Webster.  One collection features adorable baby papers with owls, elephants, and foxes (What does the fox say?), and the other is a colorful collection that should brighten up any card or page.

Lastly, but certainly not leastly, Stacy Stamps has come out with a line of beautiful flowered 8.5x11 cardstock that is blank on one side.  They are perfect for card making and for layering.

Hopefully we will have the May schedule posted in the next couple of days.  Keep your eyes on this space!
